Mary
Meet Mary, Head Teacher of Secondary English. Mary is a highly experienced English teacher familiar with every level of all secondary courses. Spanning a career of over 40 years, she has held various curriculum positions both in schools and in regional offices. Mary continues to be a passionate educator whose particular expertise in the specific areas of literacy, critical analysis and imaginative writing ensures that her students gain a range of skills in both responding to and creating texts. Following her initial BA.Dip.Ed, and having taught overseas for two years, Mary gained her MA (TESOL) which led to her special interest in assisting students for whom English is an additional language - EALD. As a previous marker of HSC English examinations, she is able to impart her knowledge and insights to her students. Mary is a resourceful, energetic and caring teacher who is a leader in her field.
Amanda
Meet Amanda, one of our senior Mathematics teachers at AM Tutoring. Amanda has a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, as well as a Masters of Mathematics education. She has 8 years of experience in teaching the senior Mathematics courses. Amanda's passion for teaching is driven by her philosophy that students need to know you care, before they care about what you know. She looks forward to meeting you all!
Stephanie
Meet Stephanie, one of our primary and secondary tutors. Stephanie is a tertiary educator with expertise in the performing arts. Stephanie holds a Masters of Education and a Postgraduate qualification in Cognitive Psychology in Educational Practice. Her focus is on enhancing student motivation and metacognition. Stephanie leads our Pre-K readiness program and overlooks our centre’s curriculum.
Samantha
Meet Samantha, Head of Chemistry at AM Tutoring. Samantha has over 10 years of experience in teaching HSC Chemistry and was the Lead Teacher in writing the Stage 6 Chemistry programs for Sydney Catholic Schools. Samantha is also the author of two Chemistry Student Workbooks. Her teaching philosophy is that all students have the ability to succeed, once they have the tools to learn.
Julia
Meet Julia, Head Teacher of Primary Mathematics. Since being a past high achiever at AM Tutoring, Julia has made her way into tertiary education. With a Bachelor of Education (Primary and Early Childhood), Julia’s focus is on enhancing student engagement and confidence, specialising in Mathematics. Julia tutors both primary and secondary Mathematics, and coordinates our K-6 Mathematics curriculum.
John
Meet John, one of our senior English teachers at AM Tutoring. John has over 6 years of experience within the senior English department, specialising mainly in Advanced English. John has written an Honors Thesis on ancient literature at Macquarie University and loves the power of language and storytelling to make our lives better.
Rebecca
Meet Rebecca, one of our Primary and Pre-Kindergarten teachers at AM Tutoring. Bec currently works full time as an Early Learning Educator and is completing her Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching at Macquarie University. She has experience working in childcare and understands the most effective learning strategies for young children. Bec is super excited to work with our Primary and Pre-K students!
John
Meet John, one of our English and History tutors at AM Tutoring. John has a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in History and English from the University of Sydney and is in his final year of a Master of Teaching. John completed Extension 2 English and Extension History majors in Year 12 and has over four years of tutoring experience. John’s philosophy of teaching lies in uplifting and motivating students through his passion by developing a personal relationship with each student.
Danny
Meet Danny, a highly experienced teacher for the last 8 years. Danny has a degree in Biotechnology, as well as a Masters in Secondary Teaching. His international experience teaching Mathematics, Biology, and General Science in the UK has enabled him to be a Year Coordinator at a Sydney private school. Danny is a motivated and vibrant teacher who is looking forward to meeting you soon.
Cassidy
Meet Cassidy, one of our Primary and Secondary teachers. Cassidy studied Secondary teaching at the University of Sydney. PDHPE and English are her specialty areas, however, she also enjoys tutoring Primary Mathematics. Cassidy is extremely passionate about educational motivation, as well as discovering new and exciting ways to learn. She believes that all students can do well if they are consistent in study, seek feedback from their teachers and are always looking to learn new things! Cassidy can’t wait to welcome you into her class!
Vanessa
Meet Vanessa, Head Teacher of Primary English. Vanessa has a Bachelor of Primary Education and is currently teaching Year 6. She has a passion for teaching and believes that all learners can achieve anything if they put their minds to it. She has been at AM tutoring for 3 years and coordinates our K-6 English curriculum.
Jon
Meet Jon, an experienced Maths teacher for over 15 years, teaching all levels in the HSC course. Jon has a degree in Actuarial Studies and has deep appreciation for Mathematical knowledge. His focus is to engage students and increase their confidence with solving problems. Jon is a motivated teacher, keen to work with aspirational students.
Jessica
Meet Jessica, our Physics and Mathematics teacher at AM Tutoring. Jessica is completing a PhD in Molecular Neuroscience at the University of Sydney. With more than 7 years’ experience in tutoring overseas and in Australia, Jessica believes that every student's learning experience should be different. Thus, Jessica focuses on strengthening individual goals and weaknesses for every student in her class.
Alex
Meet Alex, a tutor and consultant in primary school education and teaching at AM Tutoring. Alex has over 9 years experience and has taught in a diverse range of schools from Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, South Western Sydney and currently teaches in Greater Western Sydney. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education Majoring in Theology and a Masters In Religious Education. Alex believes that achieving academic excellence is an ongoing process that requires patiences, effective communication and positive reinforcement.
Tahlia
Meet Tahlia, one of our primary tutors at AM Tutoring. Tahlia is a Pre-Service teacher in her final year studying a Bachelor of Primary Education with a Diploma in Italian. In addition to classroom teaching, Tahlia has experience in working with special needs and learning support students. Tahlia has a passion for teaching and believes that every child has a unique style of learning which is reflected in her teaching practices.
